Speedy fund transfer facility to Algeria

The Minister delegate to the State Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in charge of the National Community Overseas and Regional Cooperation, has the pleasure to inform the members of the Algerian Community, that the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications has established since 19th May 2001, a speedy fund transfer service in collaboration with the Western Union, International Financial Service.

This service allows receiving in Algeria within just a few minutes fund transfers payable in national currency coming from some 180.000 contact points in the 186 countries participating to the service.

Over 100 post offices in Algeria are directly connected to this service. This figure will be increased to 1000 offices in 2003.

In this regard and to ensure a more diversified range of services, the Ministry of Post and Telecommunication is about to launch, starting from 1st April 2002, a similar service of telegraphic mandates by electronic means. This highly secured service allows payment operations in all the post offices in the country within two days at the latest, following its issuance in the French territory, as first step, this system will be extended to other countries in second step.

Moreover, it is intended to sign a new agreement with Eurogiro for the launching, as soon as the agreements are finalized, of a speedy account to account transfer.

These measures are aimed at offering a complete range of services, particularly, oriented to ensure the quality of the services and meet the customer expectations.
