In collaboration with the Algerian Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprises and Handicraft, the Algerian Subcontracting and Partnership Mart (BASTP) and the Algerian Fairs Export Company (SAFEX), are organizing the First International Fair to promote Partnership and Subcontracting (SIPROST 2003), due to take place at the "Palais des Expositions" in Algiers on May 8-11, 2003.

Sponsored by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), this international economic event will provide main-contractors, suppliers and subcontractors -both in the industry and services- with an additional opportunity to interface and showcase their expertise and know-how. The SIPROST program will include workshops and in-depth presentations whose primary objectives are to:

-introduce the Algerian network of subcontracting;
-promote sub-contracting opportunities between Algerian and foreign firms;
-upgrade the technological capabilities of Algerian firms through cooperation and
partnership with foreign counterparts;
-attract foreign investment and clients;
-contribute to the fostering of regional and international business relationships.
